Un Duo

Un Duo is a cozy delightful throw or twin quilt. Pretty fabrics are all from French General by Moda. French General creates reproduction prints inspired by antique french linens. Very romantic in muted blues, reds , taupe and cream. I pieced a special backing from some floral panels to make a truly reversible quilt!

Quilting: I free motion quilted this in simple flowing motifs.

A note about free motion quilting. This is achieved using a sewing machine with no feed dogs. Fabric is moved under the needle to “doodle” a design. Speed and direction is controlled entirely by hand movements.

Materials: All new 100% cotton quilting fabrics. Quality 80% cotton 20% poly batting which is breathable, soft and adds a lovely cosiness to the quilt. Double fold binding is machine stitched to the quilt. Fabrics have not been pre-washed so first washing will produce a delightfully wrinkly result and 3-5% shrinkage will occur.
