Summer Memories

Summer memories is a scrappy ¼ log cabin style quilt built around and aqua and cream half square triangle. These prints are all from my Westminster Fabrics collection which are all from the 90’s ish. The quilt has a fresh summer feel.

Main Fabric Line: Westminister Fabrics - assorted designers

Accent Fabric: Northcott - Coolwave and Bella - Porcelain

Backing: Timeless Treasures paisley.

Binding: Timeless Treasures gradient stripe

Pattern: MSQC - Summer Camp

Quilting: Free motion quilted in straight lines following the diamond shape of the blocks

A note about free motion quilting. This is achieved using a sewing machine with no feed dogs. Fabric is moved under the needle to “doodle” a design. Speed and direction is controlled entirely by hand movements.

Thread: Aurifil- Creme de Menthe - variegated

If you plan to use this quilt on a bed please measure your bed and take note of the dimensions of the quilt. It can be folded at the foot of a larger bed for napping or for colder nights.

Materials: All new 100% cotton quilting fabrics. Quality 100% cotton batting which is natural, breathable, soft and adds a lovely cosiness to the quilt. Double fold binding is machine stitched to the quilt. Fabrics have not been pre-washed so first washing will produce a delightfully wrinkly result and 3-5% shrinkage will occur.
