Frankie

Frankie is a dynamic quilt pattern by GE Designs. I used a curated collection of 36 different prints from a retro Westminster Fabrics collection. Truly one of a kind. It is a sister quilt to “Green Goddess”. The same prints were used with a different background and pattern. I do imagine these 2 quilts at the foot of twin beds! Who says twins have to be identical!

Main Fabric Line: retro Westminister Fabrics

Accent Fabric: Bella Persimmon and Kona Haze

Backing: a paisley print by Camelot

Binding: Ruby Star Society cream dots on deep orange.

Pattern: GE Designs Frankie

Quilting: Free motion quilted in first a diagonal echo of the blocks and then a custom floral/leaf motif.

A note about free motion quilting. This is achieved using a sewing machine with no feed dogs. Fabric is moved under the needle to “doodle” a design. Speed and direction is controlled entirely by hand movements.

If you plan to use this quilt on a bed please measure your bed and take note of the dimensions of the quilt. It can be folded at the foot of a larger bed for napping or for colder nights.

Materials: All new 100% cotton quilting fabrics. Quality 100% cotton batting which is natural, breathable, soft and adds a lovely cosiness to the quilt. Double fold binding is machine stitched to the quilt. Fabrics have not been pre-washed so first washing will produce a delightfully wrinkly result and 3-5% shrinkage will occur.
