Minty Fresh

A pretty and colourful quilt with diagonal squares and minty sashing. I had ben saving 6 1/2” squares for just such a project!

My patchwork backings are becoming legendary (in my mind anyway)!

Main Fabric Lines: Sally Kelly and Alison Glass as well as a few others

Accent Fabric: Kona Julep

Backing: Patchwork

Binding: Free Spirit Cory Dantini

Pattern: Free pattern called Fiesta Garden by Art Gallery Fabrics

Quilting: Free motion quilted in one large spiral.

A note about free motion quilting. This is achieved using a sewing machine with no feed dogs. Fabric is moved under the needle to “doodle” a design. Speed and direction is controlled entirely by hand movements.

Thread: Aurifil Berrylicious

If you plan to use this quilt on a bed please measure your bed and take note of the dimensions of the quilt. It can be folded at the foot of a larger bed for napping or for colder nights.

Materials: All new 100% cotton quilting fabrics. Quality 100% cotton batting which is natural, breathable, soft and adds a lovely cosiness to the quilt. Double fold binding is machine stitched to the quilt. Fabrics have not been pre-washed so first washing will produce a delightfully wrinkly result and 3-5% shrinkage will occur.
