Pocket Change

Pocket Change is named for the pattern. It suits the quilt because it is made of a curated selection of pieces from previous quilts. It is always my intention to waste as little as possible of my precious fabrics. The checkered blocks are a colourful mix of prints while the alternate blocks are very neutral. This combination makes a unified quilt top. I kept the backing and binding in the neutral tones as well.

A super soft quilt for the foot of the bed or for cuddling on your couch - maybe with your bestest fur friend!

Quilting: Free motion quilted in a diagonal cross hatch design. The quilting is fairly open which makes for a soft and squishy quilt.

A note about free motion quilting. This is achieved using a sewing machine with no feed dogs. Fabric is moved under the needle to “doodle” a design. Speed and direction is controlled entirely by hand movements.

If you plan to use this quilt on a bed please measure your bed and take note of the dimensions of the quilt. It can be folded at the foot of a larger bed for napping or for colder nights.

Materials: All new 100% cotton quilting fabrics. Quality 100% cotton batting which is natural, breathable, soft and adds a lovely cosiness to the quilt. Double fold binding is machine stitched to the quilt. Fabrics have not been pre-washed so first washing will produce a delightfully wrinkly result and 3-5% shrinkage will occur.
