Love Wins

Every February I like to make a quilt with hearts. I celebrate all forms of love, not just romantic love. It has never been more obvious that love is what is needed. “Love Wins” is a large throw or twin. Measure your bed if you plan to use it there.

I used my collection of scraps for these hearts. I indulged my love of florals especially. The hearts have a narrow sashing in a coral pink with tiny cornerstones of Lori Holt prints.

I didn’t use a pattern but used a free download from Cluck Cluck Sew to make the hearts.

Backing: Lori Holt sweet floral

Binding: pretty pink stripe

Quilting: I free motion quilted this by making a single wave across the quilt and then echoing the stitching about 2” apart. A technique I learned from Just Get It Done Quilts.

Materials: All new 100% cotton quilting fabrics. Quality 100% cotton batting which is natural, breathable, soft and adds a lovely cosiness to the quilt. Double fold binding is machine stitched to the quilt. Fabrics have not been pre-washed so first washing will produce a delightfully wrinkly result and 3-5% shrinkage will occur.
